The Good Dinosaur (2015)

With many setbacks, The Good Dinosaur has been scheduled to be released on November 25, 2015. The Good Dinosaur is an  American 3D computer-animated comedy film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. It will be the Studio’s sixteenth feature film and will be directed by Peter Sohn. Peter Sohn has directed Ponyo(2009) and Partly Cloudy(2009). Bob Peterson came up with the idea for the story, but was removed from the film in 2013. Peter Sohn was then announced as new director on October 21 ,2014.

The official synopsis reads: “The Good Dinosaur” asks the generations-old question: What if the cataclysmic asteroid that forever changed life on Earth actually missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct? The film is a humorous and exciting original story about Arlo, a lively 70-foot-tall teenage Apatosaurus with a big heart. After a traumatic event rattles Arlo’’s tranquil community, he sets out on a quest to restore peace, gaining an unlikely companion along the way – —a young human boy named Spot. The film has a talented voice cast of Lucas Neff, John Lithgow, Frances McDormand, Neil Patrick Harris, Judy Geer and Bill Hader.
In a promotional video for Up, many fans noticed 4 stand out images in the background of sculptor Greg Dykstras office. The stand out images consisted of a dinosaur sculpture a person standing next to it. The film was originally suppose to be released November 27, 2013 but with story line changes and crew changes the film had to be pushed back. Peter Sohn has started that, “the title is deceptively simple. It has more meaning that it seems.”  The film has been completely re imagined and with many problems occurring on the set from 67 employees being laid off out of a 1200 person workforce and the closure of the Pixar in Canada the movie will be a reward itself once it’s released.
