2019 Best Animated Video Games

2019 has been another great year for video games! From Sekiro to a villainous Goose on the loose, there are many video games to choose from. From zombies to King Boos, video gamers young and old can choose from remakes, reboots, and sequels. It was not easy choosing the best-animated video games for this year, but here they are. Resident Evil 2 is the remake we have been waiting for! This masterpiece stars Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield as they figure out a way to escape Racoon City with zombies around each corner. This survival zombie-filled video game has impeccable graphics and puzzles. Capcom certainly delivered for this game to be one of my favorites for this year.

Death Stranding

Death Stranding is an action-adventure video game that stars Sam Bridges who is tasked with delivering cargo. Set in an open world and one of the first games from director Hideo Kojima and Kojima productions after the disbandment from Konami in 2015 this video game has the graphics, voice acting, and the soundtrack to keep life interesting.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

Platforms –  Playstation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows.
Growing up with the Call of Duty franchise, I was extremely surprised by how realistic the graphics were to this game. This first-person shooter by Activision is the 16th overall installment of the call of duty series.  This reboot is probably one of the better games from the franchise. The realistic scenarios, mature content, and graphics give gamers what they wanted from the previous games. Of course, zombies are not included, unfortunately.

Control

Control has been voted as Game of the Year by IGN. This action-adventure, third-person shooter developed by Remedy Entertainment and published by 505 Games. The game revolves around the Federal Bureau of Control (FBC), a secret U.S. government agency tasked with containing and studying phenomena that violate the laws of reality.

Devil May Cry 5

Devil May Cry 5 is the sixth installment of the Devil May Cry series. Set several years after Devil May Cry 4, the story follows Dante, Nero, and the new mysterious protagonist V. This game is for Devil May Cry fans and newcomers. There is even a light novel and manga that was released as well.

You can never have too many Zelda games! I have to applaud Nintendo for their efforts in remaking this video game but also adding new and improved elements to make it more retro and modern.  If you enjoy the classic, you will also love this game as well. Legend of Zelda: Link’s awakening currently holds the title of one of the best-selling Nintendo Switch games.

Luigi’s Mansion 3

Did somebody say Luigi’s Mansion!? As a kid, I used to love playing the first Luigi’s Mansion game on the GameCube. If you enjoy the original then this video game will suck you right in. Luigi’s Mansion 3 has a personality that shines right through and this action-adventure game has some new moves and tricks.
