The Incredibles 2 was distributed by Walt Disney Pictures and is the sequel to the superhero movie, The Incredibles (2004). The story follows the not so ordinary, Parr family.

Fun Fact: Incredibles 2 is the fourth highest-grossing film of 2018, and the second highest-grossing animated film and the 15th highest-grossing film of all-time.

Incredibles 2 Prediction:

Incredibles 2 – Not my favorite Walt Disney/Pixar film but I can see this movie winning the category. It’s not a secret that the Golden Globes and Oscars are known for choosing films with the highest-grossing movie sales and because of the well-known production team.

Isle of Dogs Prediction:

Isle of Dogs – The stop-motion animation was stunning and Wes Anderson does a fantastic job with the storytelling. I don’t expect this film to win the category but I’m glad it is getting the recognition it deserves.

Mirai is a sumptuous, magical, and emotionally soaring adventure about the ties that bring families together and make us who we are. The film is a Japanese animated film written and directed by Mamoru Hosoda.

Fun Fact: Mirai is the first Japanese animated film to have its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.

Mirai Prediction:

Mirai – It’s always great to see another Japanese anime nominated for an award in the film industry. Mirai’s visuals were beautiful but the story was a little unorganized. I enjoyed watching the film but I got a little bored halfway through the film.  I did really enjoy the message of the film.

Ralph Breaks the Internet is a 3D computer-animated comedy film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios. It is the sequel of Wreck-It-Ralph (2012). The story follows Wreck-it Ralph and Vanellope Von Schweetz as they face their own adventures and challenges in the internet.

Fun Fact: Ralph breaks the Internet has many references to pop culture and video games. The movie will be released 90 years after Mickey Mouse’s first appearance in Steamboat Willie.

Wreck it Ralph Breaks the Internet Prediction

Wreck it Ralph Breaks the Internet – If you like memes then this film is for you. I personally didn’t like the film. I thought the jokes were flat and the story wasn’t very compelling. The animation was good but other than that I thought the movie was somewhat okay.  I don’t expect this movie to win the category but if it does…. I expect the audience to hear, Never Gonna Give You Up.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Prediction:

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse: I have not seen this movie yet but I have heard some great things about this film! You can definitely tell the animation team put a lot of work and fun into developing this animated film and I expect this movie to do really well at the box office. Being a fan of the Marvel Universe ( pretty much everyone), I want this movie to do well and I really hope it does pull a win at the award ceremony. I want this film to win if it lives up to the hype.
