2016: Budapest Short Film Festival (BUSHO)

The festival was Established in 2004 by a group of young Hungarian Filmmakers in order to fill a gap in the category of short film. The International Breakthrough Rapidly came on the 3rd festival in 2007 When Were screened shorts from 45 countries. The name “Bush” has come from a pun (Budapest Short – Budapest for short), but it refers to the traditional popular custom of winter-send-of from Southern Hungary called “Busójárás”. The Festival is from August 30 to September 4, 2016

Budapest-Short-Film-Festival-BUSHO.jpgOne of our main goals is to develop, present and catch up the cultural identity of the Eastern European audiovisual sector helping it to give experts more to the market. We aim to give ground to introduce young filmmakers for they can,  create a new European value. The number of entries in fiction, animation and experimental category is gradually increasing.  In 2011 there were 962 shorts to be selected by the pre-jury of 90. Which can make it to the competition. Everyone is welcomed at the first week of September each year in the heart of Europe in Budapest. Come along and experience the culture.
