Boy & the World also known as O Menino e o Mundo is a 2013 Brazillian film directed by Ale Abreu. The films music is by Ruben Feffer and Gustavo Kurlat. Cuca’s, a small boys life is shattered when his father leaves for the city, prompting him to embark on a quest to reunite his family. The boy’s journey unfolds like a tapestry, and his wonderful new films animation takes on greater complexity and variety as his small world expands. The movie takes you on a journey of emotions and political views. The stunning visuals are enhanced by rich soundscape of samba and Brazilian hip hop, creating the powerful vsceral experience of a passage through life.

The films worldwide premiere occured at the Ottawa International Animation Festival. It won the honourable mention for best animated feature. It also earned an honorable mention at the Festival do Rio and won the Youth Award at the Mostra de Cinema de Sao Paulo. At Annecy International Animated film Festival for Best Feature film. In 2015, at Animafest Zagreb the film won the Grand Prix for the feature film.
