The Secret Life of Pets is an upcoming 2016 American 3D computer animated comedy film produced by Illumination Entertainment. Illumination Entertainment is an American animation film production company based in Santa Monica, California. The company is best known for its first animated feature film, Despicable Me. The film, The Secret Life of Pets will be directed by Chris Renaud and Yarrow Cheney and written by Brian Lynch, Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio. The film is edited by Alexander Berner and will be distributed by Universal Pictures.  On April 16, 2015, the film was pushed back from its original release date of February 12, 2016, to July 8, 2016.
The plot of the movie consists of taking place in a Manhattan apartment building. Max’s life as a favorite pet is turned upside down when his owner Katie brings home a sloppy mongrel named Duke. They have to put their quarrels behind when they find out that an adorable white rabbit named Snowball is building an army of abandoned pets determined to take revenge on all happily-owned pets and their owners. The film stars Louis C.K., Eric Stonestreet, Kevin Hart, Albert Brooks, Hannibal Buress, Bobby Moynihan, Lake Bell, Ellie Kemper and Steve Coogan.
