Underdogs’ Gets Dubbed US Release Trailer

Underdogs also known as “The Unbeatables”,  “Foosball” or “Metegol” is a 2013 Argentine and Spanish 3D Computer animated comedy adventure film. The film was just recently picked up by the Weinstein Company, and they’re releasing a dubbed version of the movie featuring an American cast. The Weinstein Company acquired the distribution rights for not only the United States but also Canada, Australia, New Zealand and France. The film is set to be released in the United States on April 10, 2015.

53e7dbcc7df6bThe movie is co written and directed by Juan J. Campanella and inspired from the short story. Memoirs of a Right Wing by Roberto Fontanarrosa. The film was released on July 18 2013, setting an all time record for an Argentine film box office opening. The film is the most expensive Argentine film of all time, and the most expensive Latin American animated feature. The budget of the film was estimated at $21 million with an overall box office estimate of $25 million.  The American dub cast includes Matthew Morrison. Ariana Grande, Nicholas Hoult, Eugenio Derbez, Bella Thorne and John Leguizamo. The film has received positive reviews from critics upon early releases but received mix views from an early release in the United Kingdom. The film holds a rating of 62% on Rotten Tomatoes.

The story take places about a talented shy boy named Amadeo who wanted to get his football team back together after having been dismantled. With the help of the foosball players, Amadeo will have to face his most terrible rival on the football pitch: Grosso (An Argentine expression that loosely translates into “Awesome/Talented Guy”). Guided by their leader, the charismatic Capi. The foosball players and Amadeo will set off on a great adventure together, like a true team, to get back the dignity that Grosso stole from them.
