2017 Best Animated Video Games

From bringing back classic video game characters that we love to creating new video games with a classic look and feel. You can say that 2017 has been a great year for video games and best animation for video games.  The PS4 and Xbox One may be several years old but they are still up to par with new consoles such as the Nintendo Switch. You can certainly say video games have greatly progressed over the year with effects to storyline. Developers and designers are listening to fans and understanding what the players want and what they look for. Of course, unless you happen to be EA.  Here is a short list of video games that I believe to have the best animation. Cuphead (Studio MDHR Entertainment)

Cuphead is a run and gun indie video game. As the title character Cuphead, the player fights a series of bosses in order to repay a debt to the devil. The game was inspired by 1930s cartoons such as the Studios Fleischer and Walt Disney Animation.

Destiny 2 ( Bungie / Activision)

Platforms – Xbox One, PS4, PC
Destiny 2 is an online-only multiplayer first-person shooter. It is the sequel to 2014 Destiny. The player sets out on a journey to regain their Light and find a way to defeat Ghaul and his Red Legion army.

Horizon Zero Dawn ( Guerrila Games / Sony Interactive Entertainment )

Horizon Zero Dawn is an action role-playing video game. The plot revolves around Aloy, a hunter and archer living a world overrun by robots.

Persona 5 ( Atlus)

Persona 5 is a role-playing video game which is part of the larger Megami Tensei franchise.  The game takes place in Tokyo and as previous titles in the series, players battle with supernatural enemies using their psyche called Personas.   The game is one of the best selling games in the Megami Tensei Franchise and has met with critical acclaim.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild ( Nintendo )

Voted one of the best games of 2017 the new Zelda game certainly meets expectations.  The series gameplay centers around action, adventure and puzzle solving. The series centers around Link who must once again rescue Princess Zelda from Ganon.

Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus ( Machine Games)

Platforms – Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PS4, PC
Wolfestein II js an action-adventure first-person shooter video game. The game is the eighth installment of the Wolfenstein series follows war veteran William “B.J” Blazkowicz and his fight against the Nazi regime in the U.S.

Super Mario Odyssey  ( Nintendo )

Super Mario Odyssey is a 3D installment of the Super Mario series. The story follows Mario and Capp, a spirit that possesses Mario’s hat. You can control the hat to take control of characters and objects. Your goal once again is to save Princess Peach. from Bowser.
